Question on Vocab !!

Hi! I am taking the May SAT in 2015 and i am a junior. I am planning on taking the May Sat next year, i started studying during the summer but took a little break for the past 2 weeks.

My Question.

Is it best to memorize 500 SAT words or the suffix/prefix? I already memorized 120 words from one of my SAT prep books, my friend who scored a 2200 last year told me he studied the suffix/prefix. Also where do i find suffix/prefix?

Thanks for the help!!

Words are more important because you cant always define a word with suffix/prefix, but it’s a great idea to do both since you have until May

I would do the 500 words for sure. The thing about suffix/prefixes is that there are going to be many words that you cannot discern the meaning from their roots alone and the SAT loves to test those words. It’s in your best interests to memorize as much vocab as you possibly can and if you have time, you can just leaf through the suffix/prefix.

I agree with @sparkl3.

Thanks for the response. i will continue to study the vocab words. And then study prefix/suffix if i have time after, which i should have.
