Question on Yale Classes

This is probably just an oversight I'm missing, but I've been glancing through the OCI, browsing classes and looking and student reviews and stuff. My question is, how can you tell the difference between a class that's one full year and one that's just a term? IE, Chem 114 is a full year, but Chem 118 is only a term. Is there some mark somewhere that designates the difference? Thanks to all :)

P.S. On another note, I haven't been on this site for a while but I noticed that recently there are a LOT of "Chance Me" threads in this forum... woah. ^^ May I suggest posting these in the Chances thread? You'll probably get a lot more replies there... :)

Hey!! Welcome to Yale!

As to your question, most classes, even if they are two terms, have separate numbers for the two semesters (i.e. Chem 114 and Chem 115). The only real designation is that the description should say something like “part of a two-term course” or something along those lines that let you know it’s 2 semesters. The names also hint at it, like Gen Chem I and Gen Chem II are basically two semesters of one class. Only thing is you don’t have to take it sequentially if you don’t want to. It’s best if you do obviously, but yeah…

Hope that helps… :/
