I took the AP Biology exam today, and I am concerned about a mistake I made on the FRQ. While I was able to catch this mistake for the rest of the questions, I finished the first FRQ with a few pages to spare and ended up writing a good portion of the second FRQ in the space for the first one. I made a notation as to what happened at the beginning of my work for the second FRQ and at the page indicating the start of the second FRQ. Will this be a problem when my exam is scored? Are exams scanned and separate questions given to different graders, or is the book left intact during the grading process? Thanks for your help!

The EXACT same thing happened to me. Can anyone help us :(?

I was also thinking… should I call the College Board about this issue?

The books are passed around in one piece. If you directed the reader to the correct location, the essay will be read.

I hope so, but someone told me that books are used in the grading for only some of the exams. For instance, I just took the AP US Government and Politics exam today, and I had to write which FRQ I was doing in a box at the top of the page. Both exams (Bio and Gov) had FRQ’s but different formats for answering questions. I’m just worried that the Bio exam will be scanned like the SAT Writing essay. I hope it’s not, but if so, my work might not be graded.

AP Books are read, not scanned. You’ll be fine.
