Hey everyone
This spring I may receive a D in my calc 2 class. I am hoping to transfer to Davis this coming fall. I will report the grade if I end up getting a D, anyone have any info or experience on what Davis might say? Will they still let me in? Also, with the calc class completed I will have exactly 60 units. Even though a D is a low grade you still receive the credits for the class, right? I currently have around a 3.4 and I dont see it going below 3.1/.2 at the end of the semester even with a D... Today is the last day to drop by the way, but I dont think I will as if I do I wont even stand a chance at getting in since i'll have only 56 units instead of the required 60... unless they can make an exception about taking classes in the summer....

Currently i'm Chemistry BA at davis and on assist calc 2 is listed on the articulation agreement. It doesn't say it is REQUIRED however. (like how for biology assist says certain classes MUST be completed...)

I'll give them a call, thanks mattn. Anyone else have any ideas?

logo98...have you already received you acceptance letter or the posting online? If not then do not call them until AFTER you get an acceptance, if you already got an acceptance then by all means call them asap. The reason is that they are more inclined to work w/ you if you are already accepted (sometimes even allowing you to retake it during the summer).

My boyfriend who was taking Biology during the spring semester before he transferred got a D in the class. UC Davis asked him to explain, he did, and they allowed him to take the class (but he HAD to pass, obviously...) during the fall. So I guess they can be lenient if you have a legit reason?

Although I wouldn't recommend receiving a "D" or "F" grade in a class we can uphold admissions with these grades depending on the situation and circumstances. Upon receiving your final grade report any failing grades through the change report on the MyAdmissions site. Only after filling out this form will we have the information needed to review your application and make a decision. No decision about failing grades will be decided over the phone.
