question - post submission of application

I've already submitted my application. I left the "Additional Information" section blank. In the past, I've heard that we could write an extra essay in this section if we so chose to do so.

Essentially, I want to send an extra essay in to be evaluated with the rest of my application, because I feel that it reveals a whole different side to my life and personality. Is there any way to do this, and if so, how would one go about sending in the essay?

P.S. I did not apply ED, this is for RD.

Yes, you can send an extra essay (or anything else you'd like to send).

You just need to mail the materials to the admissions office at the address at the bottom of the admissions office webpage. Make sure you include your name and date of birth so the materials can be matched up with your application file.

in theory are you allowed to send as many essays as you want?

and are the adcoms supposed to look at every supplemental thing they receive?

Yes and yes, although they don't guarantee they'll look at everything -- if an applicant sends a web link, for example, and the readers don't read near a computer with internet access, it won't necessarily be seen.

In practice, I wouldn't send anything unless it adds to the application.
