Question re Ivies and getting deferred

Do Ivies ever accept deferred applicants during the RD evaluation period (Jan-Mar), or do they always wait until the end of March?

For my Ivy all RD decisions only ever come out end of March, but some people get those “likely” letters that come out like 2 weeks in advance or so. Not exclusive to ED deferred applicants though.

Extremely unlikely that a deferred applicant will get a likely letter. If they were so highly sought after that they would get a likely letter, they would have gotten in in the early round. Deferred applicants will find out the same time as RD applicants.

@BKSquared has it

@BKSquared is correct. All Ivy League colleges have the same announcement date for RD. No decisions will be released before that date, whether a new applicant for RD or deferred from SCEA/ED.

Not only are Likely Letters “not exclusive to ED deferred applicants,” they’re virtually non-existent for deferred applicants. But the vast majority of accepted applicants don’t get a LL anyway.
