Question re UC Transfer Application

My daughter is filling out the UC transfer application. She’s a sophomore at a 4-year university, not a community college. Under Academic History, step 3 of 4, there is this question:

“Prior to transfer, will you complete two transferable college courses in English composition (not including English as a second language courses)?”

There are two spaces in which to put course department, number and name for those two English comp. classes. At her school they have College Composition I, II and III. For her school they require you take Comp I and then either Comp II or III. Her school accepted her score of 5 on the AP English Language and Composition course from High School to fulfill credit for their Comp. I class so she only actually took College Composition III in college. She sees in the instructions it says if you are using AP credit to fulfill the transferable course requirements, enter the AP exam scores in the Test Scores section of the application. She plans to do that in that section, which comes later than this section, but it seems the application will not let her go further without putting something in for both spaces under the English Composition courses.

The question is: in addition to putting in the information for the Composition III that she actually took at her four year school, should she also put in Composition I as the other course (since she is getting credit as if she took it) OR in that space should she try to write in “AP English Language and Composition”? If she puts in Composition I, she could explain in the notes section that she didn’t actually take it, she got AP credit for it? It’s just not clear what they want the student to put in that space but again, the program won’t let her move on with the application until she fills something in there and it has three spaces intended for I think the department, then the course number, then the course name. Thanks for any input. It seems like it shouldn’t matter too much if she explains it but on the other hand, she doesn’t want to make it sound like she took a course she didn’t take even though her school accepted her AP credit for the course.

She will also write to the admissions counselor she’s talked to before but with it being so close to the application deadline and Thanksgiving, she doesn’t know if she will hear back quickly.

You can manually enter so just put AP in course number English in description or something like that.

Ok, thanks @Ohm888 - it’s just weird because the instructions specifically say “if you are using AP credit to fulfill the transferable course requirements, enter the AP exam scores in the Test Scores section of the application.” That made it sound to me like you are NOT supposed to put the AP course here. But maybe you put the course name here and then the score itself in the Test Scores section?

Sometimes you have to to move on. Put it in both. They’ll see it.
