QUESTION regarding ACT

hello fellow college-prepERs :)
i have a question about ACT

is it mandatory to send out the ACT score once you take it?
or can you just not send it if your scores are unsatisfactory?

I heard that they are checking every single SAT score you took
so i was wondering if ACT scores are being sent to the colleges without the students agreement too.
thanks!

No, you send the scores only if you want to. And if you sit for the test more than once, you can pick which sitting(s) you want to send.

The difference between SAT and ACT is that any time you request anything from Collegeboard, they send your entire SAT file - all your SAT 1 scores and all SAT 2 scores. However, with ACT, you can pick which scores you want sent.

ohh wow. that's cool :) thanks guys for the info!

I took a ACT today. listed some colleges. Am I to udnerstand the default is that they will just send that one I took today, because I took one the last time or so. I want the colleges to get both since I don't know what my scores are until it's late. Do I need to go to Act site and pay for all the colleges again to get them both when the Dec scores are available?

Random - I believe you need to request and pay for each sitting to be send to each specific college. So if you requested that your scores from yesterday be sent to College X, but you have not requested scores from a previous setting to be sent to College X, then you need to contact ACT and request them to send the previous scores to College X.
