So last fall when i was filling out my UC application, i listed the AP chem tests under "may 2007," saying that i would take it in the future. I decided against taking it, and i am now wondering about if i should tell the colleges i got accepted into about my decision. What should i do?

Tell them. I don't advise that because I think they'll particularly care, but the schools may have a system for verifying tests that were listed to be taken in the future. If you listed an AP test and didn't take it, they will probably not be pleased to find it out by verification and it throws the rest of your application into doubt.

hmmm thanks for the advice, i was pretty confused since my schools conselor told me what you said, and some friends/"sat lady" at my school told me not to worry about it. how do you suppose i should go about informing them? letter or is there an easier way to tell them?

Pop over an e-mail with a brief explanation. End it by asking if you need to send over some kind of notification.

I can see why people would tell you it didn't matter, but like I mentioned, if they choose to verfiy your application, the entire thing looks bad if they find out you didn't take one of the schedule tests. I think you're making a good call by letting them know.

false. u dont have to tell them. some ppl dont even take the ap tests altogether...in fact, some ppl dont even REPORT their scores so its not big deal
