So I took the SAT in junior year and got 570R 760M 650W, and I decided to apply early to stanford. Of course I will be taking the SAT again in October (trying to get reading significantly up and writing 50 points or so). The scores will come out on October 24, one week before the deadline. Should I 1. wait till then to see my scores and self report them then apply or 2. apply a bit earlier and rush my scores later on? One would make sure that my application isn't evaluated with my lower score, the other would make me apply earlier than only one week before the deadline. Thoughts?

I’m not sure what you’re trying to ask, the scores will be released before the deadline and they have to be sent to the school anyways so you can apply whenever you want before the deadline. It doesn’t matter how quickly you apply, try still won’t read any applications until after November 1st so use the time to work on the application

Stanford looks at all scores for SAT/ACT exams so it doesn’t matter.

Hey. I’m a Kenyan Girl applying to Stanford REA. I’d really appreciate any kind of criticism. So I first heard about the SAT in July. I’ve been using Barrons and SAT MATH for dummies. I’ve taken over 20 real timed past SAT papers. In the papers I’ve done this week, I gotten 780Math 750CR 740W on average. I’ll take the real test in oct so we’ll know for sure. Hooks: Orphan living with my grandparents. Common App Essay: Taking up a Job in an Engineering firm(casual labourer) to help take care of my sick Grandfather and how I grew up so fast. Letter to roommate: I tell her about my love for soccer and Music and that I also DJ. Describe extracurricular essay: I wrote described one of the visits we made with my NGO to a high school. What matters to me most: Diversity…a funny story about how I got lost in a slum and having learned with friends from such a background, I could communicate in Slang(only associated with that particular slum) so thats how I got home…I blended…I never seem out of place.

Kenyangirl6, just as general CC advice it’s not considered polite to put your own chancing information onto someone else’s thread. Make your own chance me thread for this sort of a post.

calirepublic96: you should definitely wait until scores are released to apply. As far as we outsiders can tell, there’s absolutely no advantage (other than being done earlier) to submitting a week before the deadline as opposed to submitting a day before the deadline.

Also, don’t be too hell-bent on applying REA to Stanford…you should definitely wait for RD if doing so will enable you to significantly improve your scores.

Kenyangirl6: start your own thread, and please don’t make it a mere “chance me” thread. Those are futile…
