Hi there,
My d is currently a junior in HS in CA, and is looking into a Conservatory program such as AADA in LA or NY vs. a 4 year BFA degree in Acting. Part of her wants to go Conservatory so that she is in either of the 2 big cities LA or NYC making connections which are so important right away but then she also doesn’t want to miss out on the 4 year typical university experience. Just looking for some input from fellow parents and students at OCU as this is one of the schools she is looking at. I personally would like her to go a 4 year school and get that awesome college life experience and it seems that OCU with the new BFA program might be the best of both worlds. We are from California so this is a long way from home but not as intimidating as NYC. Since we are from Orange County CA and LA is only 1 hour away I would like her to spread her wings a bit further from home. Any thoughts on the new BFA in Acting and the School of Theater at OCU? How does it compete with conservatories and their intensive training? Do graduates find work acting? Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated!!
