Question regarding class waitlist

I registered for classes almost two weeks ago. There's a course I've really wanted to take next semester, TEL-T 283, but it's a really popular class and the waitlist had 31 people on it when I registered, so I didn't bother with the waitlist or anything. The prereq is TEL-T 206 with a C- or better, which I'm in now and getting an A with flying colors. (TEL is not my major, I just really wanna take T 283).

Tonight my friend was telling me about the class and I finally decided that I want the class bad enough to roll the dice with the waitlist. There's one lecture (38 people on waitlist) and several discussions each with about 5 people on the waitlist. I put myself on the list, however it bundled the lecture and discussion into one and put me as #4 on the waitlist, even though there are 38 people who were on it before me.

Why did I get to be #4 when other people were there first, and what are my chances of getting into the class?

Thanks guys.

Are you sure you are not #4 on the discussion and #38 on the lecture? Unfotunately I have not had any classes with lecture and discussion parts for the past two years, so I don’t remember how it worked for me.

I also have limited experiences with telecommunication classes, but I was #5 on the waitlist for T-205 (had a class limit of 20) and got in, so 25% of the students originally scheduled for the class dropped it before it began. Hopefully that provides some optimism.

It really looked like it grouped the lecture/laboratory into one. The only thing I could think of is maybe thet put me on the waitlist for the laborotory and if I get into that, I get into the lecture also?

It looks like this: http://oi53.■■■■■■■.com/2q3aqoh.jpg

And maxellis, I really hope that’s the case with this class too haha.
