I know that IDOC doesnt have a specific due date regarding submitting copies of this year tax returns, while the website said march 1st, whenever I have called (as my accountant would not have it ready that early, we own businesses) te person on the phone has assured me that march 1st is not a deadline for IDOC and said "submit as soon as possible". I finally received the returns from my parents accountant and am ready to send them over. Nonetheless I am concerned with how submitting at this time will affect my financial aid if I am to be admitted. For further info, i submitted both fafsa and css on time. does anyone have insight?

I was told by our financial aid counselor at Emory to send in the IDOC as close to March 1 as possible, because it would delay any financial aid decisions. I think we mailed them on March 3, and Emory notified us that they had received it on March 14. So I would send in as soon as you can.

Will this affect my ability to receive grants and non-federal aid from the university?

I wouldn’t think so, but it will delay the decisions. You should contact your financial aid counselor at Emory and let him/her know of your situation. And get the IDOC in the mail via Priority Mail today.
