Question regarding financial aid

According to my financial aid award letter, I am supposed to contribute ~$2000/year. The money can be earned through summer work, scholarship awards, etc. I have recently received a scholarship of $16,000 - $4000/year. Since my scholarship award exceeds my expected contribution, will the school increase my expected personal contribution to $4000/year or will they reimburse me with the excess money?

each school treats outside scholarships differently. You should report the scholarship to the school and ask them how it is treated by their FA dept.
