I graduated from a Florida high school and I've lived in the state for most of my life. After I graduated and enrolled at an in-state school, my parents moved out of state. I find myself in a weird position, because now I'd like to transfer to a different in-state university and I have no idea if I still qualify as an in-state resident, since I'm a dependent and my parents no longer live here. Does anyone know how this works?

You need to take this question directly to the transfer admissions office at the university you would like to transfer to. Some states will grandfather you for residence because you are an in-state HS grad. Others won’t. Be prepared for either answer.

Good luck!
