<p>Hi, I am an upcoming freshman and I am set to take physics 141, 132, and 133, which is the general physics series. I am currently enrolled in phys 141 and the class requires me to use the “Physics for Scientists and Engineers” textbook by Knight. However, when I looked up the required textbooks for these classes in the physics department’s website, [Courses</a> - Physics Department - Cal Poly](<a href=“http://www.calpoly.edu/~phys/pages/courses.html]Courses”>http://www.calpoly.edu/~phys/pages/courses.html), the textbook used by all three is the “University Physics” one by Young. Since I am going to have to use the “Physics for Scientists and Engineers” textbook for my Phys 141 class, will it be okay to use the same book for Phys 132 and 133? I am assuming that these two books don’t have much of a difference in terms of the material covered. Thanks.</p>

132 - Waves, Vibration, Sound
133 - Electromagnetism, electricity, etc… </p>
<p>It’s entirely possible that they are using a different book for 141 than 132 and 133. Since I got AP credit for 141, I never had to take it at Poly. I do remember using the same book for 132 and 133, however that was a long time ago. </p>
<p>Does it really matter right now? Also, can you find the ISBNs on PASS?</p>
<p>It doesn’t really matter much. I just wanted to know so I can know whether or not to buy or rent the books to save some money. Thanks, though.</p>
