i just sent in my SIR online a few days ago and my friend showed me a pdf file saying we have to mail in our SIR. here's the link https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentApplicants/admitpacket?jlinkevent=DisplayLinks
Does anyone know if the just sending in SIR online works? or do i have do print out the pdf file and send that as well?

I sent mine online. It works I believe, since when I log in, I see things like "thank you for choosing ucsd/etc"
paper is only if you cant do it online.

they have a paper version for people who cannot submit the sir online. the problem is that to get the paper version, you must BE online in which you must print it out. I dunno, maybe i'm missing something but it seems kind of ironic.

the paper version is for those who cannot pay online. they send the check with the form

YOU HAVE TO PAY?!!? i didnt pay anything?

Your fee was waived. It was $100.

^but my application fee was not waived....and i am not exactly low-income..is there a mistake?

It will probably be charged to your Tritonlink account once you're here. That is what happened to me.

oh, so that's the reason i didn't have to pay $100. i was like, "WOW, i'm so poor." but then, i did have to pay the application fee too. aww, i thought i can get away from that. apparently i just have to pay later.

Phew, I was in panic mode when I couldn't find any page asking me to pay the deposit after submitting the SIR. I thought I missed it or something...

If we got a email saying "welcome to UCSD" does that mean our SIR went through???

I didn't get an email, but when i signed on to myapplication it said something like, "thx for choosing ucsd."

Once you submit the SIR, you shouldn't have to do anything else... Other than pay, but from the sounds of it they aren't making you you upfront anymore... There should also be that checklist when you go back to the MyApplication page (or whatever it was...)
