currently under the status report, it shows that my transcript has been received. however it does not indicate that the teachers' recommendation letters, which were sent, have arrived. The letters were paper recommendations sent through the mail. Does the status report not supposed to indicate the arrival of letters of recommendation or were the letters never received? thanks.

I applied last year, and that status report is fairly accurate. One of my letters arrived, and the name of the teacher who wrote it was listed on my status report. I waited and waited to see if the other one got there and it never did. The admissions office is very nice. I would call them if I were you. Also, just so you know, the mail is very slow coming and going from CVL. I learned late in the process that if you really want to be sure that something is arriving there, then fedex it--you probably don't have to do next day, but afternoon delivery or 2 day delivery is good.
If your letters have not arrived to UVA in an appropriate amount of time, consider going to the teachers, have them print out the letter, sign it , and put it in a sealed manila envelope and have them sign the outside seal. Then you take these sealed envelopes and Fedex these to UVA.

How long does it usually take for your transcript to show up as received? I sent mine two weeks ago and it still says on my status page that it has not been received. Should I be worried?

Paper recommendation letters do not show up on the status page. The system automatically shows the ones that come in electronically.

okay, that's REALLY helpful!

well, is there any way to check whether supplements have arrived?
I think I'm going to call the admissions office tomorrow to check on it=]

Please don't call the office to check on supplements that aren't electronically checked in. Our front desk is inundated with these calls (more than ever this year, for some reason) and they will not be going downstairs to the file rooms to physically pull your file. They will look you up in our computer system, which is the same system that shows items on your status page.

If something is missing from your application, we'll email or call you. We want your application to be complete so we can read it, so we have staff members who spend a lot of time chasing down documents.

Boy that is strange. Confirmation of receipt of electronically transmitted recs was rec'd via email from UVa about 9 days ago. But the status page does not show that. How long does it take for the system to update itself?

Vistany, have you submitted your application? You won't have a status page until the application is submitted.

The emails are autoreplies triggered by the teacher hitting their submit button. When you submit your application, the recs and teachers' names will show up on the status page.

Found the problem. The status page does not show the recs. You have to click "apply online" and then "recs" to see who submitted. Status page just shows transcript received.

Any idea how to confirm receipt of SAT scores? Clicking on standardized testing only shows the self reported info not a confirmation of college board data?

Thank you!

On my UVA account application status it has three title under "Transcript, Institution, and Received". Under these three titles it gives the name of my HS under "Institution" and "Official" under the "Received" title. Does this mean that my application was received or not? How is this information presented on other peoples application?

I think if it says "official" under recieved then that means that they have it, because my status says "no" under recieved at this time.

Does the status report show if they have received the SAT/ACT scores? We ordered S scores more than a month ago but he didn't see them listed on the status report. And yes, he noticed the change under transcript to Official -- assuming it meant they had received it.

The status page doesn't seem to show SAT Scores but it should be straightforward. It is my understanding that College Board sends all the score reports on some type of electronic media and that this makes it easier for the school to match up the scores with the applicant.

I'm hoping Dean J will read this thread again and let us know how to confirm receipt of SAT scores on the status page.

Well, Dean J said that if anything is missing they will contact you. I'm glad I read this thread, because my DS status report shows transcripts not received. He was going to call, but after reading this thread I explained that the status report does not show items that were mailed.

I'm confident in following Dean J's advise and waiting to hear if anything is missing.

So I sent in my transcript and everything around December 1st, but my status page still says my highschool transcript is not there. What should I do?...Wait and hope that it gets there or send it again when i return to school?
