Question regarding taking college classes as hs student

I am a high school student in 10th grade. I wanted to take some extra classes at a local university.

i live in social, is it possible to take any classes at the CSU/UC's or can i only take college classes at a community college?

THERE IS NO POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took the IB Program because of Berkeley and they flat out rejected me :(

depends on the program....check w/ them.

This probably doesn't apply...but for medical school admissions, every college class you ever take anywhere goes on that transcript, so be aware of that.

Yes, it is possible. Best to live near one of the UC/CSU campuses.

Also: Look into www.uccp.org

How favorably would colleges view a student who takes 3 university classes and at the same time is taking around 6 AP's classes in high school?

I guess it's not detrimental, but remember to keep your academic load realistic. You don't want to pile yourself with so much stuff and suffer for a whole year. I don't believe that adcoms will let you off easier if you are struggling in university classes, so make your course selections carefully. I would go for it though. If you think you can do it, then why not?

if colleges see that your high school unweighted gpa is like 3.6 and then they see that you took around 5 classes at the local university, and got A's in all of them, would they average the two gpa's, so you would have like a 3.8?

Yes, it would be averaged, but it might be averaged as a whole (like averaging 9 classes together, not averaging 6 and 3 separately).

don't know...but remember that college classes are a lot more than the 3-5 hours a week that you're in the classroom/lecture hall.

anyone know any site that allows you take college courses online?

link plz

thx

jason4444: I messaged you back. If you have any other questions or concerns, I'd be happy to answer them.

im a sophomore as well and im taking college classes over the summer.
the closest UC campus is like Davis and for CSU its sacramento i think.. but im just taking community college classes...

would uccp count toward ur average?

Depends on your school. Ask your counselor.

Why would you do that? you won't have time for anything. And make sure the classes at univ are unique. Like hindi or something.

i took an online course fall semester.
check out suny's online program, or see if the schools in your state have somethine similar.

Is there a program other than SUNY where you can take college classes online? I'm looking for classes like accounting or finance or something...

Are you sure the SUNY online program is for high school students? I looked at their course catalog and some courses are quite advanced.

question, do community college courses taken during the summer count as part of your gpa?

Ask your guidance counselor.

At my school, yes.
