For running start, how are they going to fulfill all my graduation requirements? For my degree in pre, I have to take a lot of classes that do not count towards my highschool graduation. Can I choose any degree I want? I’m concerned not earning enough credits in order to graduate high school. If I get to graduate with my AA degree, will they give me my high school diploma as well?
@VW34 For Running Start, you cannot sign up for the community college classes until your high school guidance counselor signs a form, and this must be done every new quarter.Your GC will help you plan out what you take each quarter so that your grad requirements are met.
Re getting enough college credits to get your Associates degree, be very careful with that. If you get your AA, then you will be considered a transfer student when applying to college, rather than an incoming freshman. This will impact the pool of applicants you are competing with for acceptance and could make you ineligible for certain aid/scholarships. In my opinion it’s better to not get your AA unless you were going to do your first 2 years at CC anyway and then transfer and graduate after 2 additional years at a 4 yr college. If that’s your plan, you will be ahead by getting your AA in HS, and obviously it’s free for you except for minimal student fees.
Good luck!
Looks like University of Washington defines frosh versus transfer based on college enrollment after leaving high school, and does not mention earning an AA/AS degree as a criterion.

Other colleges may have different definitions of frosh versus transfer.
I’m trying to go to nursing school, should I take some summer classes and pay?
Also, do you know when I should start talking to my counselor about running start and applying?
