Question regarding unofficial test scores

We just send in Form 5 and a photocopy of SAT/ACT scores? Do I also need to attach unofficial SAT II/AP scores if I am going to send those officially through College Board?

Yes, if you are submitting your subject test scores, do include them in your unofficial report. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Another question – does the adcom look at your other scores in your unofficial SAT score report that you didn’t report on the online application? I got a not-so-good score on my US History subject test (640) and don’t want to report it, but if they can see it on my unofficial report, I might as well report it.

Hmmm… I can’t speak for the adcoms, I can only guess. They would probably “see” it (and some applicants have said they are reluctant to send Form 5 for that very reason). I know my daughter sent three SAT subject tests when she applied - two in the 700s and one in the 600s (this was before score choice was an option), and she was accepted with a scholarship. I honestly think that if your *lowest *of three scores is a 640, you don’t have anything to worry about.

Wait can we just send the scores directly to USC (from Collegeboard) instead of photocopying them…?

J.G.,
From the USC Admissions website (which all of you presumably have visited as that is where the application is…):

[Freshmen - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/freshmen.html)

(sorry for the slightly sarcastic tone, it is just that I have answered that very same question over and over and over in the last three days…)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL 2010 APPLICANTS!

Oh okay sorry.

Thanks. So to make the Dec. 1st deadline, the app just needs to be submitted and all that other stuff (recs, copy of SATs, etc.) can come later on right (the 1-2 weeks following)?

To make the December 1st deadline, all materials would be sent by December 1st. 1 to 2 weeks later would be 1 to 2 weeks after the deadline. That is why it is called a deadline.

Ah shoot… so I’m basically screwed even if the unofficial score report is the only item that will probably come later than Dec. 1st…

For the unofficial scores, you just need to print out your scores from the College Board website (or copy paper documents) and mail that in with Form 5.

querty - you are officially deputized! Thanks for your help (and keep it up!)!

I know that. The thing is that since it will probably only be sent out tomorrow, it won’t get there before Dec 1st…

Why not fax it?

FAXing is a good idea, but you can also mail it. Read this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/819609-2010-applicants-answer-dec-1st-deadline-everything.html</a> and look for the word “postmarked.” (The “postmark” is the little stamp the post office puts on the stamp the day you mail something.)

Ahhh okay thank you. So yes, it will be postmarked by Dec. 1st (though received a few days after I suppose).

Thanks again! Sorry for all the trouble.

No problem - my answers were all perky and pleasant until recently… not your fault. If you mail everything tomorrow you will be fine. I suggest using a trackable mailing method and to put a self-addressed, stamped postcard in with something like “Dear USC Admissions, Please send this back to me upon receipt of theses application materials…” Then you will know that everything gets there. Good luck!
