Question regarding waiving UC health insurance

I was recently admitted to UC Santa Barbara. They offered me a financial aid package that covers almost everything. I know that students are required to have health insurance, and it costs about $460.00 per quarter. If I opt to waive the school’s health insurance, will they deduct the cost from my total financial aid package?
Thanks.

UC Davis didn’t reduce my FA last year when I waived the fee. So I’d assume it would be the same for you.

UCLA didnt change my financial aid after waiving my university insurance, you should be fine

If you have comparable coverage, you may waive UC SHIP. Once your waiver is approved, “the insurance charge will be reversed in your account.” Source: [UCSB Student Health - Waiver FAQ’s](http://studenthealth.sa.ucsb.edu/UCSHIP/waiver_requirements.aspx#w2)
