I know this may sound like a dumb question, but am I able to take the SAT subject tests without taking the actual SAT? And if so, does that look weird or bad at all to colleges?

Yes. No. I took the ACT and 3 Subject Tests.

Perfect! Thank you.

No problem. Almost all schools accept either SAT or ACT and some require Subject Tests outside of that. I haven’t heard of a school that does not take ACT instead of SAT.

Yes I know. It’s quite a common misconception actually, at least at my school. Students are misled into thinking that east coast schools only accept the SAT. I heard that Harvey Mudd only accepts the SAT, but if that’s accurate, that’s the only school I’ve heard of.

Nope; all US schools now accept both the SAT and the ACT.

Wow, go ACT.
