(I asked this question yesterday but my question was probably too vague or wathever so noone wanted to answer it)

I'm applying to the Computer and Cognitive Science: Artificial Intelligence dual degree. You get a BAS or BSE from SEAS and a degree from CAS. I've confirmed I can apply to it as a freshman applicant. Am I applying to SEAS and CAS or just SEAS (because I technically can't add the dual degree until after I've completed 8 CU)?

I don’t think anyone here is going to be informed than you are about the program you are applying to. I would definitely check with the admissions office. They can offer you better insight. Why does it make a difference though (just curious)? Did you apply ED?

thanks hopeful. it makes a difference because it might make me have to adjust my why upenn essay (i address it as though i’m applying to seas and this dual degree, which might be wrong). and if its insanely hard to get into (which seems improbable given that noone even seems to know anything about it) i might have to change it or whatever.

i emailed my regional rep like 2 weeks ago but im assuming cuz of ED apps she hasnt gotten back to me, so i emailed the admissions office yesterday. hope it works out lol

Well see, I’m not sure what program you’re talking about but as I’ve seen through Penn’s Accelerated Programs on their website, you’re supposed to choose which school you want to be considered if you don’t get into that dual degree program… so it should be on the application. That’s what was on for ED application.

for what it’s worth, i know that cognitive sciences is more of a CAS major. it all depends on what you like to concentrate more of your time on: computer science or cognitive science.
