<p>first, confirm that the schools you are applying to allow international students to defer admissions (not all do)</p>
<p>second, find out what the financial aid policies are for international students. Most schools are not need-blind for international students so if you will be needing FA to attend school, you will need to apply for it at the same time as admissions.</p>
<p>For many schools (and you will have to check which ones) if you don’t apply for FA when you apply for admittance, you are not eligible to apply for FA at any time during your undergraduate years.</p>
