Forgive me if this has been asked elsewhere, but for those of you who got in EA, what was the letter/e-mail like. I'm an RD hopeful but I'm pretty sure I'll be rejected. My friend got a deferral letter and it didn't say deferred right away but it didn't say accepted either. Do the acceptances start out with something like "Congrats" or do they also start with a generic "we have just completed our application review" sentence?

It started out something like, "We are excited to welcome you..."

You can tell by the first line.

You'll find out when you read the letter.

But if you really can't wait that extra half-second that it takes to distinguish whether the letter is an acceptance or a rejection:

"I am delighted to inform you..."

"Congratulations on all your achievements..." if i remember correctly

They start out like this:

"Dear Mr./ Ms. ---------,

I am delighted to inform you that the Committee on Admissions...."

Awesome, I hope to get that next year...

Congrats to all once again.

there was definitely a delight in the first line. it wasnt the most friendly letter, but still insanely nice to receive.

I remember when I got my e-mail, I only read the "I am delighted to inform you" and then kinda freaked out. Didn't read the rest until I had calmed down later. haha.

That's exactly what happened to me.

I ran up and down the stairs like 10 times.

No one was home. :(

None of my family's cell phones were on. :(
