Question: UC Major Change

I have a question. I applied to most UCs as undeclared physical science major. How hard will it be to change my major to something under engineering? ex. If I get accepted to UCSD as undec phys, how hard will it be to change to engineering? Thanks!

It would be difficult. For UCLA, at least, you have to take all the lower division math and science courses and then "apply" to the engineering school. There's no guarantee of getting in.

If you didn't think that you would get in with an engineering major, going this route would at least get you into the school.

However, if you were going to get in with an engineering major, then you should have applied so. It's much easier to get out of engineering and basically major in anything you want in L&S.

What ucapplicant05 said.

what about something like this-say i applied to ucsd w/ bioE and got in, and i wanted to transfer to mechanical engineering. is that possible?

It seems like flopsy is following my trail.. and giving me the approval! Woohoo!! :-P

Hmm. I see. Thanks for the replies.

But when you say it's hard to change into Engineering major, how hard is it? Or what's the process?
