Question: UCLA to Cornell

I was given guaranteed admission to Cornell Fall '09 under the Industrial Labor Relations. One of their requests was to maintain a 3.3 GPA along with certain courses. I'm declared as a Business Econ major @ LA. Is it difficult to maintain a 3.3 w/ a B or better in all my classes?

Below are the classes that they're asking me to take.
(also I didn't apply for honors)

a.) 2 courses in freshman eng.
b.) 2 courses of introductory Econ (macro or micro)
c.) 3 courses of the following
-science & tech
-cultural perspectives
-western intellectual tradition
d.) college algebra (if no pre-calc or calc in high school---no need b/c i
took calc)

I have to maintain a min. of 15 credits each semester as well. No incompletes or withdrawls and pass/fail grades are not acceptable. Of course they'll be flexible if a course isn't offered or I couldn't take all the classes. But how difficult is this? o_O Please help.

Should I change my major? Or does it even matter. I understand that for Bus. econ we're required to take this killer Calc B class. -____-

a) english classes shouldn't be too hard
b) study well and stay on top of your stuff, and it's possible to ace econ 1 & 2
c) these sound like GEs, so these shouldn't be too hard. Research your classes and professors to make sure you don't get an unreasonably hard GE (search for the Easy GE thread somewhere on this forum).
d) Calc B (Math 31B) isn't too bad. I took it with Prof. Khitrik and got a B (after getting a C in Math 31A!). Again, take it with a professor who isn't too hard.

You srysly did the GT thang? I got in legit w/ a small scholarship ($4k/yr.), but their fin aid sucks majorly. I think a 3.3 with those stipulations is a higher standard than you think - I would plan on 4 years in LA.

I'm serious about the GT. I do like Cornell and I'm willing to give it a try. But as for financial aid I heard that they give a lot of money. My friend, who is in a similar situation, only had to pay 5k w/ no loans. He also got lots of spending money from Cornell.

What were your guys's experience @ LA in term of academics? Do you think switching majors would matter?
