If a student has been living with a grandparent at the time of high school graduation, and there was no court involvement (i.e., the grandparent is not a foster parent, no legal guardianship, etc.), would the student still have to attempt to get a parent's financial info for the purposes of completing the FAFSA?</p>
<p>Your grandparents are not parents for FAFSA. If there is still contact with your parents then you will have to provide their info. If there is no contact or some sort of special circumstance then you would have to ask for a dependency override from your college. This will require some documentation and confirmation from people who know your situation (doctors, counsellors etc).</p>
