hmmm.........

The only reason is because of US news rankings. Seems that's all the mods care about....

Thats the only way to make it fair, to use third-party rankings. Otherwise, there would be much more debate as to which colleges belong in that section.

What exactly is NYU ranked?

NYU is tied for 32 with UW Madison and Brandeis

Well there are 19 universities in that section. If I remember correctly NYU was ranked 26th or something. Nevertheless, I still consider NYU to be a high class university and one of the top in the country.

32?? wow...what about Stern Business school...would that be higher?

There are a few programs within NYU that are ranked very high. For instance, Tisch School is the number 2 film school in the country.

the Stern school is ranked #2 in International Business and in Finance at the Undergraduate level, 2 subsets of the US News ranking of Undergraduate Business Programs but is not in the top 3 overall and i dont have access so i dont know where it falls exactly overall

in terms of Graduate programs, Stern is ranked T-14, with Yale and Cornell (Johnson)

The thing with NYU is it has some TOP programs, like Film and Stern, both others that aren't. Hence the lack of inclusion in the top schools section. Its still a great school though!
