Question

Is it just me or does it seem like most people do better on the math portion of the SAT than they do on Critical Reading?

Does anyone have a guess as to why that is? Personally I find the CR much much easier, but I guess everyone has their strengths. It's just interesting to me. Is math just easier to figure out for most people?

Just wondering.

The critical reading section, in my opinion, is a bit of a joke. It expects you to abandon all 'critical' and 'analytical' thought and rather give the answer that they are looking for. The reason people tend not to do as well on it is because there tends not to be 'proof' of the right answer, like in math where the solution can be derived often formulaically (sp?)...this cause insecurity in one's answers, and therefore indecisiveness, which can hurt one's score.

That does make sense thanks.

lol a lot people who are good at math find the math part really really easy. I mean, it only covers algebra and geometry....that's like middle school math
