Err....I live in Jamaica and we sort of follow a different program...we call seven years of our schooling 'High School' but the last two you actually do A-Levels [the Caribbean version(CAPE)] now when you get back the grades from CAPE which are from 1-4, 1 being the highest they do something with that to give your GPA...now, will NYU accept this as my GPA or will they consider it a bit sketchy....because I'm quite likely going to get four 1s all A profile, which would give me a 4.0 GPA which to my understanding is supposed to be impossible to get for you guys living in the states.

I'm planning to take SATI, SATII [Math, WRitting, World History] I'm planning to get into stern...I should KILL the SAT exams[top 2 percentile easily].

Also, I'm an American living abroad...will I be considered an International student?

Sorry, but I hate it when people mention race, especially here. It usually starts a huge silly debate.
Besides, you should want to get in because of your grades, not your race.

Aa for living abroad, I think international students are only students who require a visa or the likes to come to the US, so unless you require one, I don't think it's international. I could be wrong, you should contact admissions and ask.

As for GPA, under 'additional information', just describe your situation as you did here so they will take it into consideration.

Alrighty then, thanks for the info. Stern is one of the most selective schools in the country if my race gives me a little boost I won't mind. lol

I see persons saying that you should apply through the Sports Director or something to that extent if your good in a particular sport...How would one go about doing such a thing? And will they have auditions to see if you are up to par?

You will not be consdiered an international student

You will be consdiered black

Your GPA will be almost meaningless from an international school unless you submit your IB scores. This makes your SATs ever more important. For a good shot at Stern, aim for at least a 99%(1450) on your SATs.

Being black will definately help, since NYU only has 4%(i think) black.

Unless you're an international phenom, NYU wont recruit from outside of the United States. You will only benefit from being an athelete if they come to you and recruit you.
