Question!

I’m currently a sophomore in high school. I heard Cal Poly Pomona has a really good Hospitality Management program. That’s what I wanted to major in. I hope to become a successful Restaurant/Bar Manager. What you’re of GPA should I have to get accepted. Also an ACT score. I live in Illinois, if that might have a slight change in my acceptance chance. Please help!

I think the average GPA for an entering freshmen is 3.4. Many have higher than that and yours will probably need to be higher because you’re out-of-state. If you were to apply to say an engineering program it would have to be higher.

The average SAT score is close to 1100 (Math + Verbal). I don’t really think you should just take a “What do I need to get in?” with your GPA. Just do the absolute best you can and don’t pull any C’s and D’s. But yeah, get over 1100 for M+V for a good to great chance. There are plenty of exceptions, though. Also, we have something called a CSU Eligibility Index. You should google that.
