Question

So I'm in a bind when I was younger I went to a for profit non accredited intuition did not graduate it but got all my loans paid back to government so I'm trying to get in a real college it they say I owe 16k for 5 months of school crazy right but they won't release transcripts so I can get financial aid like most colleges but they recently sold the debt does that mean I'd be able to get my transcripts legally since I know longer owe them a debt?

If you owe the money, you will need to pay it. What do you mean “they sold the debt”? It is very possible they turned your debt over to a collections agency.

You need to get this straightened out. If you DO owe the money, you will need to pay it. If you do NOT owe the money, you will need to provide documentation to the college that it has been paid, and get the record changed.
