Question-?

I got accepted into Warren for bioengineering and I have a few questions about the major. Apparently, there are 4 different bioengineering majors: bioengineering, bioengineering: bioinformatics, bioengineering: pre-med, and bioengineering: biotechnology. So first, what’s the difference between these majors?
Second, are all the bioengineering majors impacted?
Third, if I get into an impacted major, can I transfer to an impacted major? What about the other way around?
Last, do medical schools only take pre-med students? Hence, if I just take bioengineering, med schools won’t take me as they only accept bioengineering: pre-med majors?

Thanks

No, bioengineering: pre-med is not.

Probably could...but not the other way around (or much harder).

Can apply to medical school with any major provided you have taken these: 1 year of writing, 1 year of biology, 1 year of physics, 1 year of math, 1 year of chemistry, 1 year of organic chemistry, high overall GPA, high sciences GPA, and a decent MCAT score -- AP scores don't count.

Wow, thanks. Are you a current student at UCSD studying bioenginnering?

No...........

Which one for Biology Major? UCSD, UCB or UCI?

What kind of Biology?

all you have to do to be "pre-med" is take a certain set of general class requirements; you can still major in basically anything.

UCSD is hottest in the nation for "science" according to Princeton Review.... and I heard UCSD has the best Bio program... go for SD
