I am currently a student at American River College a community college in Sacramento, California I am working on an associates in social science (which is really just a broad array of about 8 majors philosophy, history, political science, geography, anthropology, economics, sociology, and psychology) and I am also working on transfer units in philosophy. I would like to double major in philosophy and theology (due to the career I am looking into the Catholic priesthood) once I transfer to a university the problem being it seems nearly impossible to transfer to a private university from a community college I look for information on required courses and such but all my school has is information on the UC and CSU system and when I look online I get nothing. All in all I am fine with just getting a BA in philosophy from a public university but a private Catholic school seems preferable because I would get more out of it due to the theology program is there any way I could come across this information?
You can definitely transfer to a private school. American River has info on transferring to public CA universities because that is the goal of most of their students. Check out a few colleges that you would like to transfer to, and check out their transfer policies. You may have to call someone up to do that.
