first off. im going to California for vacation in aug. im going into my junior year but i was wondering if i could do an interview. i know they usually do interviews for hs students applying in fall 2008 but my guidance counselor said because i do live far away(new jersey) its not like i can just drive there to do an interview and come back,so some schools will consider you an exception. does USC do that?
and if i do go for an interview, what kind of questions do they ask? do they ask for your GPA? or just questions to get to know you not as a person? thanks!!

personally, i think the campus tour is more useful than the interview. an interview isn't required for acceptance, and i read somewhere that they don't consider it very much when making their decision. i didn't have one and i got in in january with the half tuition scholarship.

i don't know about interviewing now... you might be doing yourself a disservice, actually. you'd be surprised how much your goals and ideas can chagne junior year, so while i'm pretty sure they would allow you to interview, i don't know if i would recommend it.

anyway, someone else may have more information on this, but i know they do alumni interviews... i don't know any details, except that those take place off campus in various parts of the country, so you may be able to have one near you. or at least in the city, which is much closer than LA, at least.

but good luck...from one jersey girl to another (both at getting into sc and at getting out of jersey).

You can't do an admission interview until you are applying to USC- and even those can only be scheduled starting in July or August 2007 (for those applying for Fall 2008.) Interviews are not required- "Past history has shown that there is no appreciable difference in the admission rates of students who are not interviewed."

While you are here, you should go to the "Meet USC" half-day campus visit program. You will meet (as a group) with an admission counselor so you can ask all kinds of questions.
