Hi,

I'm thinking about applying to Georgetown, but I'm bothered by the fact that it doesn't seem all that diverse. Just how diverse is it? Also, is Georgetown gay friendly?

Thanks.

bump..........

i can't speak so much for the school but...it's in the middle of DC, which is a highly diverse city..plus there are SO many other colleges in the area...there's so many different ethnicities, generes etc from so many different walks of life..all around the same age..so if the campus isn't that diverse, there's still the rest of the city waiting right outside that stone wall...i can't really speak about the gay community though, sorry..i have no idea.

hey, i am an international from pakistan, and a freshman
from my experience, gtown is a very diverse place.
they focus a LOT on internationals, and you will find people from all parts of the world.
even amongst regular american students, you will meet people from all walks of life and with different backgrounds. almost everyone i know has an international flavor or has something cultural about them

Sounds of Silence..as in the Simon & Garfunkel song?

From what I've heard, it is decently diverse, with a good contingent of internationals and such. And while everyone there is pretty well off, there is bound to be a few down-to-earth people, right? God I hope!

yeah..like i said its a good mixture..people are very friendly and not at all snobbish and stuckup even if they are very wealthy. so far i have had an amazing experience

Thanks, y'all. I'm happy to know Georgetown is a diverse place. Now I just need to find more info about the GLBT community there.
Yup, SoS-- as in the Simon and Garfunkel song. :)
