Question

Has there anyone who got in to Stanford because they had a million or hundred thousand dollar business, and contributed some money to the school?

Because, I am willing to do that if I can get into stanford.

Why don't you e-mail the admissions office with this question?

Every school has 'development admits' but it's fair to say that 'some money' doesn't cut it - most books indicate, for those of us who entertain ourselves with this information, that at the top schools one is talking about 7 figures, where '1' is not the first significant digit....

If it were that easy, all the top schools would be filled with kids whose parents had donated a little money.

I would add that the few parents I know who can afford this route rarely use it, because it sends a really strange message to their children - these are parents who are self-made, and think their children need to make their own way in life....
