I did way better on the ACT than I did on the SAT and I took the SAT four times!!
Can I just send ACT scores to these colleges?
When it asks for SAT scores on the actual application should I just leave it blank???

THANKS

I left those SAT score-slots blank. Go ahead and just send the ACT.

Johnson181: Did you take SAT II's? And, if so, did you send them and just hope they would disregard your SAT I's?

^None of my schools actually require sat II's (although I've taken 3- bio, ush, and math 2) as long as I submit the ACT with writing. Boy do I love the ACT.
For the record, I was worried about the whole 'recommended' bit even if you submit act, but when I spoke to several ad. officers recently they said not to even bother to spend the money to send the sat for the subject tests.

For the schools I sent the sat to (2 schools), I only sent the scores to place out of certain classes in the long run; both schools would be classified as 'safeties' for me anyway.

thanks for the quick & concise response :)

if you don't mind my asking, where all did you apply? (just to see if we have any overlap, so i can gain a little peace of mind in not sending any form of sat's)

Well, to avoid making my identity obvious, I won't give my complete list.
-Duke
-JHU
-WUSTL

^My top three, in no particular order. There are 4 others that could be included with that as well, but those are the more 'typical' schools that aren't top 20's (all top 50 though). If you're worried about similar schools to those three, I wouldn't worry about sending sat's so long as they waive the subject tests when you submit the ACT w/ writing.
Even at JHU (which on it's website says it's highly recommended), the representative I spoke to said not to bother; that completely relieved my worries.

(Now mind you, I still have to actually submit these apps- they should all be complete and done within the next 2 weeks or so, so I don't expect my list to change).

well that subdues my fears, since the one school i was really concerned about was JHU. (top choice by far)

Thanks again!
