Question

How does Emory usually view upward trends in GPA. Specifically, how much weight do you think it will have in the decision making process?

they want you to have a high GPA, typically above 3.7 is their minimum, however they weigh the difficulty of high school courses that you take rather than GPA

An emory counselor told me that first they look for the rigor of the classes you took vs. how many your school offers, then they look at the grades achieved and yes 3.7 ish is a round the average. Finally, EVERYTHING else is weighted equally ( essays, recs., EC’s, sat/act. ect) … hard to believe they rank sat/act the same as essays and recomendations but that is exactly what she told me.
