Are there any good books out there, not study books, mind you, but actual novels, which contain excellent vocabulary? You know, I'm looking for a book with literary merit, educational vocabulary, and which is just overall enjoyable.

Hmm. I read the Fountainhead (Ayn Rand)and I really enjoyed it. Also, I learned many words from it. Along with that, the whole philosophy is interesting. I'd definitely recommend it. It looks huge. But the great part about it is that because it takes so long, you really savor each page.

Hmm...I wasn't a huge fan of it, but some of my friends liked Death in Venice by Thomas Mann. If you like murder mysteries, I enjoyed The Company : Portrait of a Murderer by Arabella Edge, and found it had a lot of new vocab.
