Question

Are your chances of acceptance lowered if you do not play a sport. Does participating in summer programs for your desired major actually help you get accepted? Feel free to respond. Thanks

I don’t think anyone can tell you for sure that not playing a sports will lower your chances- admins take your whole application into consideration, and decide from there. I, along with some others, did not play a single sport in high school- and I still don’t. I’ve never been interested in sports, I don’t play or watch any sports. On the other hand, I put my time into things that I was passionate about, which were math and science. I went to numerous math and science competitions and for 2.5 years, I conducted research in a lab at the local med school. I think that you should participate in activities that truly interest you, and that you’re willing to work hard in. Having a few significant things in your extracurriculars list always looks better than having 20 nonsense clubs you went to for an hour every week.
