Hey, I've been reading about course requirements for certain colleges, and I'm confused about what it means by "lab"? Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks. :)

The lab is usually the hands-on section of the course, for example dissecting something or other - it depends what the class is. I have a computer science lab which involves the creation of robotics.

At most schools, biology/chemistry/physics are all lab sciences. Colleges just want to be sure you're fulfilling your science requirements with real science classes.

While most schools combine classroom and lab into one course, other schools split them into two classes. For example, they'll have you sign up for a period of Chemistry and a period of Chemistry Lab. Very few schools I know do this though.

^Generally NY schools do this for the required lab time/ regents requirements.

But yeah- in general, bio/chem/phys are what they mean by 'lab sciences.'
