I was reviewing problems I missed and I still don't really get #46 from Test 2 in The Real ACT Prep Guide even after reading their explanation...

Can someone clarify?

I was reviewing problems I missed and I still don't really get #46 from Test 2 in The Real ACT Prep Guide even after reading their explanation...

Can someone clarify?

Math, science or what?

Well its question 46 so its either English or Math. I'm guessing math.

I actually did this problem today:

A restaurant has 10 booths that will seat up to 4 people each. If 20 people are seated in booths, and NO booths are empty, what is the greatest possible number of booths that could be filled with 4 people?

F. 0
G. 1
H. 2
J. 3
K. 5

So there are 10 tables where people can sit and EVERY BOOTH has at least one person in it. Since there are 10 booths, think of 1 person sitting at each of the 10 booths. You now have 10 more people to sit and you want to fill the most booths with 4 people. Since only 4 people can sit at a booth: add 3 people to the first booth (now it's full), add 3 people to the second booth (now it's full), add 3 people to the third booth (now it's full). You're up to 19 people sitting. The last guy sits and the fourth booth and you have 3 FULL booths and at least 1 person in every other booth. The answer is J, 3.

If he meant the English section number 46:

In the dusk of a late summer evening, I walked quietly with a small gathering of people toward a shelter at the edge of a field in northern Indiana.

F. NO CHANGE
G. On
H. With
J. From

Can you walk WITH dusk? No. Can you walk ON dusk? No. Can you from FROM dusk? No. When talking about periods of a day, use the preposition "in." "IN the morning I got up. IN the afternoon I came home from school. I went to a movie IN the evening."

The answer is F. NO CHANGE.

It was math, sorry for the confusion. But I actually just got it after asking my friend a while ago. Thanks for all the help though. The wording threw me off.
