Question!!

Which college lets you put e/c and award info you accompished before high school?
(I know most colleges require 9th-12th)

plz respond? =)

I've never heard of a college letting you do that, and I don't know why they'd care if you did...if it's something so incredible that you just HAVE to mention it, put it in an essay or mention it in an interview...

Okay, I'm sure you could include something maybe from 8th grade if it's really good. Just put it in the resume.

What sort of ec/award are you thinking of, shadowx? If it's something really important (ie. Winning State/National level competition) and it's happened recently (grade 8, maybe 7), then find some way to include it (as entropicgirl suggested, perhaps in the essay or at an interview). Also if there's an activity that you started prior to high school and you continued it through high school, I think you should be able to say how long you did it for. If you really aren't sure, speak to your GC or e-mail the admissions office at the university/college you're applying to.

i don't think they would really care about a grade 3 spelling Bee, but then again, maybe some elite schools are keen on grammar?
I mean if you acheived anything major, i.e. invented Post It or formulated a chemical that cures some odd disease, then it'll probably help you. But other wise.... i don't even think they'll help you, because people change alot in 4 years.

I won Odyssey of the Mind 3rd place at World Finals in 8th grade. Yeah, I guess I'll just put that in the essay.

I'm guessing that's a good thing? Anyhow, if you haven't achieved something great similar to the "Odyssey of the Mind" thing since 8th grade, it is reasonable for colleges to wonder- "what happened to him since then?" You aren't judged by what you do before high school, so I wouldn't bother too much with it. If that's you're single greatest accomplishment, including your time in high school, then you might be in trouble. If you want to work that into an essay, be sure to explain how you've changed or how that experience effected you (in a good way), and be sure to include some more recent anecdotes. Best of luck!

Thanks, I will =D
