I know some people would want to beat me over my head for starting another thread about this stupid subject, and to those people I apologize, but I spent an hour looking and couldn't find an answer.

If I have a blank line the day of our mid-year report being recieved, March 3rd, should I take that as a bad sign?

I mean, even if it is a bad sign, I guess that's okay, because CMU isn't my top choice, and I've already gotten into some schools that are higher on my list, but I still want to know asap. :)

That’s completely debateable. It depends on what kind of applicant you are and what the midyear report contained. If you are a fantastic applicant and they just wanted to make sure you didn’t screw up with grades, it probably means they accepted you. If you were a decent applicant and got perfect grades, it is usually a good sign (why would they wait to see your midyear report if they knew that straight As wouldn’t get you in?). If you are a borderline applicant and the midyear report wasn’t great, then it’s probably not a good sign.

So, honestly, no one knows what it means. They received my midyear report Feb 20-something, made my decision on March 11th, and I just got an email saying they received an update email I sent in a month ago. I have absolutely no idea what the decision will be :/

yeah I have the same question
The “Where I am in the Process” shows the blank line is on 02/17/09
and they received my MID-Year grade report on 02/20/09
Does this mean that they didn’t have a chance to look at my Grade report or is it like they saw my application and were like “We don’t have to look at his Grade report – He is directly rejected”
I have a kinda low SAT(2050) but have a really High GPA(4.3/4) and high SAT II(2250)

bump…
I just got to know that my cousin(international applicant) also had the same problem
The “Where I am in the Process” shows the blank line is on 02/12/09
and they received my MID-Year grade report on 02/14/09
but his stats weren’t as high as mine
SAT(1900) but has a really High GPA(4.5/4) and high SAT II(2300) and also he didn’t apply for Financial Aid
