I just finished filling out the SIR and residency information. and they told me to send my Permanent resident card. Can i just scan it and email it to them?

you might want to call and ask the registrar for this one.

oh okay… but i was also wondering why my residency is indeterminate… i lived in california for 8 years and will graduate from california high school.

your attending a californian high school doesn’t say anything about your residency. even those not in possession of green cards can still enroll.

i was talking about residency for tuition purpose

what’s the difference?

i’m under the assumption that they’ve got to verify your residency status for both legal and tuition purposes, and just living in the state for “X” years might not be the only requirement? if i remember correctly, “permanent resident” seems to apply to those seeking US citizenship (so at the national, not state, level).

but on the site if u graduate from california high school, u are considered in-state. [Exemptions and Waivers from Nonresident Tuition](Special Circumstances Resident Classifications and Nonresident Tuition Exemptions)

this is really confusing

i was just told to fax mine in, so i scanned a copy and did just that - got an email confirmation 30mins later.

I sent mine in. I also faxed, but I have not gotten my confirmation yet.

does everyone need to send one in? I don’t remember if i was asked to or not.

Only if you are not a citizen I think.

Today i got a email confirmation that my status have changed from pending to resident! yes.

Same here! OMG IT’S SO EXCITING!
