Question!

Hey guys! Real quick question:

Is it appropriate to inform a university on their admission application and/or to update universities that you have already applied to that you have been accepted to other universities and identify those institutions? If appropriate, would this inclusion affect college acceptance/rejection decisions?

Thanks!

Inform all other institutions that you have applied to when you have decided on what institution to attend.

Why would you want to do this? Are you trying to convey that you want to go to a specific university and are notifying them of your successes so that they take you?

No, I would not contact a University, from whom you are awaiting a decision, to update them on other acceptances you have received.

Unless there are special circumstances, such as you have a deadline to respond to another school and need a decision from this school immediately (btw, sometimes they will accommodate you, sometimes they will not).

I can’ think of any other such circumstances… but if you have some, you can describe them here if you want more feedback.
