Can you retake the act after being accepted and enrolled into your choice college? I was wondering if i could retake the english part because my score was a 17 and a 19 is required for english course. Do I have to take the entire test over agian or can i do just that portion?

That would be a question specifically for your college. No two colleges would have the same rules about how to pass out or qualify for a particular class in a sequence.

I do believe you can retake the ACT for whatever reasons you may want at any time, any age. I would suspect you’d have to take the entire test, however. Whether or not your college would use a resubmitted ACT score for your english placement would be a question for your college.

Anyone can re-take the ACT, or take it for the first time, at any age. Like Annika said, whether your school accepts the score is up to them. Can’t hurt to ask.

You would have to sit for the entire test. However, that doesn’t mean you have to try on the math stuff. But, you may want to, just in case you want to transfer to another school, and they ask for your ACT scores.

I have been a room supervisor for the ACT for about 9 years and it is possible to take only part of the exam. Twice I have had a student leave at the break since they only needed those sections tested prior to the break. The English test is first and lasts 45 minutes and the math section lasts 60 minutes. You should notify your room supervisor that it is your intention to leave at the break and that you do want you exam scored (those who become ill can let the supervisor know they don’t want the exam scored if so desired). You can contact ACT for more information.

All right! Thanks for the help guys! :D
